Hot Rod Power Tour 2021: Day 3 Indy

After the shenanigans and hanging out, we decided to sleep in a little before the drive to Indianapolis. We planned to leave Dayton around 8:30am. There was rain in the forecast and it was shaping up to be a long day. We would go to Graham Rahal Performance for a cruise in, before driving back to Columbus, OH.

We checked over our rides and headed out of the hotel westward. A quick gas stop along the way turned into a Power Tour Car Show. We continued on through the rain before stopping for lunch in Greenfield, Indiana. Did I mentioned it rained almost the entire drive?

We made it to the venue, Lucas Oil Raceway is one of Hot Rod’s favorite stops. We have been there 3 times in the last 4 tours. I am not complaining, Indianapolis is a great city for motorsports and all things car related.

We spent most of the day talking with people, car spotting, and just taking it easy. I met some awesome people, took a ton of pictures, made the most of the day. We even took in some drag racing from the grand stands. My dad convinced me to clean up the Cutlass before heading over to the Graham Rahal Performance event.

GRP held a cruise in and open house for their Power Tour guests. Since we visited in 2019 they have added a Ducati dealership, and they always have a number of cool cars in for service and upgrades.

We got the crew together for a group photo before the core headed back to Columbus. It was getting dark fast, but at least the rain had moved out of the area. I want to thank Scott, Aaron, Kreig, Brian, Doug, Kerry, Austin, Perry, Steve, and Eric for making this another great road trip. A special thank you to my favorite mechanic and navigator, my dad. I appreciate and look forward to our annual father/son trip.
