My daily driver is a 2010 Acura TSX sedan. With winter fast approaching, I recently replaced my worn Cooper AS3 tires with the latest all season performance tire from Pirelli.
The performance luxury tire segment is filled with everything from 20,000 mile summer tires to 90,000 mile economy tread. I researched several options and weighed performance against tread life then balanced it with reviews, ratings, and cost.
I ultimately chose the Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS. The tire was the best mix of performance and affordability from a strong brand. Pirelli is well known for performance tires and racing history.
The tires carry an 80,000 mile tread warranty.
Within the first week of having the tires installed, I parked in a muddy lot while attending my daughter’s soccer game. No problem getting out of the space. While driving on the highway the weather turned into a wintry mix of rain and snow. Traction was everything I expected it to be.
I have seen a few warm weather days recently which provided an opportunity for spirited driving. The tires take sharp turns and on ramp acceleration without squealing or losing grip. I even put over a thousand miles on during a Thanksgiving road trip. The tires are quiet and do not easily track in road grooves.
So far the tires have performed just as well (if not better) as the Michelin Pilot HX tires that came as original equipment. Not to mention the 30 percent savings on price. I will continue to monitor performance as these tires age and wear.
Overall, I say these are an excellent choice for all around tires. They are worth the money for your daily driver. There are also other variations for more performance or run flat capability. They perform as advertised and are a sound decision for your all season driver.
