It’s here! The first day of the Hot Rod Power Tour. It was Monday, so that meant we had to fight through Atlanta traffic to get from my uncle and aunt’s house to Hampton, Georgia. It was an hour drive with traffic, then once we got to the venue there was a line to get in. There’s nothing like Power Tour traffic. It’s hard to complain about being in line with hundreds of old school cars and trucks. I always notice windows up or windows down.

Once we got into the venue, they placed all the cars into staging lanes before taking us into the tunnels. This gave me a chance to get out and see some of the cool cars and people that had arrived. You may recognize some of your favorite YouTube personalities and the vehicles they brought on Power Tour.
They called our lane and we headed off to the tunnels and into the infield. It’s always a unique experience driving your car to the infields of these legendary NASCAR tracks. Looking out into the stands and lining up in the pits has to be an amazing feeling on Raceday.

We met up with some of our family and began to enjoy the sights and sounds of this venue. There was drag racing and autocross going on. So many cars to see with just the participants, not counting the vendor cars. One of the big features at this track was the participant laps. It was certainly a special memory for those that drove around the track.

All in all, it was a great day. The weather was hot, but it didn’t rain. The venue was good and we had a great time. Tomorrow morning we head to the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbus, SC.
